Peer-to-Peer WebRTC Video Streaming
Unlike conventional smart cameras that send nursery feeds to Amazon, Google, or offshore cloud servers, Baby Zzz's creates a direct peer-to-peer connection between your devices.
- DTLS-SRTP Encryption: Every byte of video and audio is encrypted at the device level before transmission.
- No Cloud Recording: Live video and audio are never recorded or saved on our servers. The only image we keep is an optional thumbnail of a camera's last frame for your camera list, which you can turn off in Settings.
- Low Latency: Video and sound go straight to your phone with no cloud server in between, so you see and hear your baby as it happens.
Multi-Camera Monitoring
Whether you have twins, children in separate rooms, or want more than one angle of the playroom, add as many cameras as you need.
- Several Cameras at Once: Watch several cameras at once on one screen, each tile sized to its video, or pick a single camera. With two or more, show them all full screen together.
- Camera Selection: Choose which cameras to watch and listen to without stopping the others.
- Per-Camera Controls: Mute a camera's sound, switch it between its front and back camera, pause its video, open it full screen, or pinch to zoom.
- Picture-in-Picture: Leave the app and keep up to 4 cameras in a small window, or keep listening with the screen off.
Live Audio, Talk-Back & Sleep Sounds
Every camera streams sound along with its video, so you can hear the nursery as well as see it, and soothe your baby from your own phone.
- Live Sound: Hear each camera you are watching in real time.
- One-Tap Mute: Mute or unmute any camera's sound right on its video.
- Talk to Your Baby: Hold the microphone button to speak through the nursery device, for example to soothe your baby.
- Sleep Sounds & Lullabies: Start white, pink or brown noise, rain, ocean waves, a heartbeat, shushing or a lullaby on the nursery phone from yours, with volume and a timer. Made on the phone itself, no recordings.
Crying & Noise Alerts
While a phone streams as a camera, it listens for crying and other noise and alerts the family members who turned alerts on, even when their app is closed.
- Crying, Told Apart: A cry is recognised separately from other noise, so a cough doesn't sound like a cry. Other-noise alerts are off unless you turn them on.
- Rings Like an Alarm: Choose per camera whether crying is an alarm, a notification or off. The alarm rings even when your phone is on silent or in Do Not Disturb.
- Snooze 30 Minutes: Snooze a camera's alerts right from the notification, without opening the app.
- Sensitivity on the Nursery Phone: Set how quiet a sound may be before it counts, or turn listening off on that phone.
- Private: The sound is analysed on the nursery phone itself. Only the alert leaves it, never the sound.
Your Tapo & ONVIF Cameras, Next to Your Phones
Add the Wi‑Fi cameras already in your home and watch them in the same Monitor tab as your phone cameras, straight from the camera over your Wi‑Fi.
- ONVIF and TP-Link Tapo: The app finds ONVIF cameras on your Wi‑Fi, or you enter the address yourself.
- Pan, Tilt & Zoom: Move the camera and zoom, optically where the lens can and digitally beyond.

Encrypted Relay (Premium) & Reconnection
Designed for overnight peace of mind, Baby Zzz's connects your devices directly whenever it can, and Premium gets the stream through networks that block direct connections.
- Direct Connections (Free): Every plan connects your devices peer-to-peer, which works on most home Wi-Fi networks.
- Encrypted Relay (Premium): When a network blocks direct connections (some mobile data and strict Wi-Fi networks), Premium connects your devices through our encrypted relay, which forwards the encrypted packets without being able to decrypt them.
- Bandwidth Cap on Relayed Streams: While a stream is relayed, its video bitrate is capped so it stays smooth on slow networks; sound is not affected.
- Automatic Reconnection: After a brief network drop, the app reconnects to our signaling service and the stream on its own, and shows that it is reconnecting.
